    Coast Guard Mutual AssistanceCoast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) is a tax-exempt organization of Coast Guard people assisting the entire Coast Guard family, including active duty, retired military, Coast Guard civilian employees, Coast Guard Reserve, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Public Health Service officers serving with the Coast Guard, and surviving family members. Most assistance is provided through interest-free loans and personal grants. Education assistance programs support members and dependents in their pursuit of academic goals. Other types of assistance include emergency travel, temporary living expenses, funeral expenses, loss of funds or property, disaster relief, medical and dental expenses, home studies expenses for adoptions, and debt management.     Community Transit - Mileage ReimbursementMedical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) is a transportation service available to people receiving Medical Assistance and is paid for by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Public Welfare (DPW). If you have a car available, or if you know someone who has a car and can take you to your medical appointment, they will provide your mileage reimbursement if it is the least costly, most appropriate service available.     Kennett Area Senior Center - In Home ServicesThere are seniors in our community who wish to stay in their homes as long as possible, but are unable to keep their homes clean and safe. Some seniors may not have a support network that can help them.The Neighbors in Action is a program run by volunteers to provide Home Support Services to low income seniors in Chester County.     Suburban Transit Network - Senior Citizen Shared Ride ProgramThanks to Pennsylvania State Lottery proceeds, mature adults age 65 and older have an economical, safe, efficient, curb-to-curb transportation option in Montgomery County. With one call a day before transportation is needed, you can arrange to share a discounted-fare ride with others in a sedan or van, within multiple service areas in Montgomery County.     Suburban Transit Network - Transportation Service for Persons age 60-64Local transportation service within Montgomery County for individuals who are between 60-64 years old. Service is provided in vans or sedans. Lift equipped vehicles are available upon request. Trips can be for any purpose but are limited to 8 one-way trips per month.     Surrey Services for Seniors - Transportation - DevonWith support from Delaware and Chester Counties, Surrey provides discounted minibus transportation for members 65+ on a shared ride basis throughout our service areas. Surrey takes members to medical appointments, to the grocery store, and to errands. For those who need more assistance,personal driver escort drivers are available to offer door-to-door transportation. Shared Ride Service Door-to-door shared ride services are available weekdays 8 AM to 5 PM. Surrey members should call in advance as all reservations are on a first-come, first served basis. Fares and other registration procedures vary depending on whether members live in Chester or Delaware county. Driver Escort Services For those who cannot use the shared ride program, Surrey Service’s volunteers provide personalized driver escort services. These volunteers drive Surrey members door-to-door and enable them to get to appointments. While the escort service is staffed by volunteers, there are administrative and other costs associated with this service. Typically, therefore, Surrey members make a $5 donation for local rides, including grocery shopping. For rides outside the local area, a $10 donation is the norm.
