    Gaudenzia - New ImageResidential substance abuse treatment facility for homeless women located in the Stenton Family Manor in the City of Philadelphia. A woman can bring up to two children under the age of 10 into treatment with her or be pregnant with no other dependent children. Accommodate 17 adult women and 34 children. The program is clinically designed as a therapeutic community, an established treatment modality that emphasizes responsible behavior. Besides receiving clinical care relating to chemical dependency, the women also receive parenting skills workshops, and child development intervention services. There is a day care and prevention component for the children. On-site services include individual and group counseling, milieu therapy (in-house work and interaction), family counseling, life skills seminars, drug and alcohol education seminars, GED classes, vocational planning, parenting skills. Other services include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous meetings and 12 step meetings and urinalysis screening. Services are delivered in partnership with qualified providers, and are guided by a philosophy that embraces hope, respect, and support for recovery. The Montgomery County Drug and Alcohol Program provides a wide range of drug and alcohol services to county residents. These services fit into three main categories: Prevention, intervention, and treatment. Each year approximately 6,000 county residents receive drug and alcohol awareness counseling (prevention).
