Quest Therapeutic Services - HippotherapyAt Quest Therapeutic Services, we infuse our extensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy expertise into a unique form of treatment called hippotherapy. This type of therapy uses our well-trained horses as part of an overall treatment program to improve your child’s gross motor, fine motor, and communication skills. More than just horseback riding, hippotherapy uses the rhythmic and repetitive movements of a horse to increase your child’s posture, balance, flexibility, strength, and coordination. The many textures, sounds, sights, and movement experiences of working around a horse provide an enriched sensory environment. Not only does your child gain from the physical benefits of being on a moving horse, but they reap the emotional and social rewards of interacting with a horse. With guidance from a therapist, a horse can be a strong motivator for a child to speak and move, making hippotherapy an effective, comprehensive, and fun treatment approach. Quest Therapeutic Services is the premier hippotherapy center serving Pennsylvania and Delaware. We are long-standing members of the American Hippotherapy Association and the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). As a NARHA Premier Accredited Center, we adhere to all NARHA safety guidelines and provide direct hands-on participation with your child at all times.
