CSS Christmas Assistance Program -St. Vincent de Paul KitchenProvides a toy for children 0-10 years and Christmas Food for residents of Luzerne County. Must pre-register in person for this program. 2019 Registration Date: Monday, November 25th, 2019 - 10am-1pm an 3pm-6pm. Location: St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 134 S. Washington St, WB. (Please Note - this is a new location for sign ups this year.) Registration requirements will include: 1) photo ID of parent or guardian. 2) Original birth certificates for each child. 3) Proof of address, such as a recent utility bill. FOOD DISTRIBUTION will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, 39 East Jackson St., Wilkes-Barre on Monday, December 16th from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm - 6 pm. TOY DISTRIBUTION will take place at St.Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre on Monday, December 16th from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm - 6 pm. Program made possible through the generous donations from the community and in conjunction with the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program. DONATION INFORMATION: Donation of New Toys or new outerwear for children and food donations can be dropped off at the kitchen any day from 8 am to 1 pm. Drop-offs should be made through the Kitchen's rear entrance on Bennett Street. Volunteers for Valley SantaIf you wish o volunteer, go to the web site listed below or contact Help Line (2-1-1 or 570-829-1341 or 1-888-829-1341) and reserve the activity and date you desire. Dates fill up quickly and only a certain number of volunteers can be scheduled for each activity. Listed below are volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Letter Reading is done on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 7:00 p.m. Up to ten volunteers are needed each evening. Location: Greenhouse Center, 92 S. Franklin St. WB Shopping is done on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings starting at 7:00 a.m. Up to six volunteers are needed each morning. Location: Boscov’s S Franklin St. Entrance Gift Wrapping is done on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings starting at 5:30 p.m. Up to twenty volunteers are needed each evening.
