Libraries and other facilities that offer a range of activities and services which are designed to meet the information and learning needs of patrons and to facilitate their enjoyment of library resources. Included are reference services, programs which introduce and encourage reading, services which enable people who cannot access the facility to utilize library resources and special collections which provide access to a broad spectrum of general and specialized book and nonbook material as well as reading material in alternative formats.

Butler County Federated Library SystemThe purpose of the Butler County Federated Library System is to operate a system of autonomous public libraries within Butler County to promote, develop and improve library (and informational) services for all County residents. The Library System coordinates library services offered by the individual member libraries and operates a bookmobile and two branches to serve those areas of the county that do not have member libraries. The Butler County Federated Library System also provides the hardware, software, and technical support for the countywide library automation system. This project makes possible the online catalog database and the use of one library card throughout the county. Outreach Services - Susquehanna County LibraryOutreach Services brings books and other materials to locations throughout Susquehanna County for patrons who can not reach a physical library location.
