|US Small Business Administration - Office of Veterans Business Development||The US Small Business Administration's (SBA) Office of Veterans Business Development’s (OVBD) mission is to maximize the availability, applicability and usability of small business programs for Veterans, Service-Disabled Veterans, Reserve Component Members, and their dependents or survivors.
OVBD is SBA’s liaison with the veterans business community; provides policy analysis and reporting; and is as an Ombudsman for veteran entrepreneurs. Free counseling advice and information on starting, better operating or expanding a small business through the Counselors to America’s Small Business (SCORE), Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) and Women’s Business Centers (WBC). They also conduct training events throughout the district - some require a
nominal registration fee.
Assistance to businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals is provided through the Business Development Program. A Women’s Business Ownership Representative is available to assist women business owners.
