Central Behavioral Health - Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)The goal of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is to help individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness to recover hopes and dreams for self-determination, build the strengths and skills necessary, and take steps towards achieving these dreams. To achieve these goals, the IOP will empower participants to support their own recovery, cope more effectively with and manage their symptoms, prevent relapse, manage stress in healthy ways, and strengthen social relationships. The IOP will provide group therapy, as well as linkages to individual therapy and psychiatric services for medication management, with a focus on hope, empowerment, choice, and partnership. Specialized clinical resources for people who have experienced trauma and/or who have substance abuse disorders will address the particular needs of these participants. Gaudenzia - New ImageResidential substance abuse treatment facility for homeless women located in the Stenton Family Manor in the City of Philadelphia. A woman can bring up to two children under the age of 10 into treatment with her or be pregnant with no other dependent children. Accommodate 17 adult women and 34 children. The program is clinically designed as a therapeutic community, an established treatment modality that emphasizes responsible behavior. Besides receiving clinical care relating to chemical dependency, the women also receive parenting skills workshops, and child development intervention services. There is a day care and prevention component for the children. On-site services include individual and group counseling, milieu therapy (in-house work and interaction), family counseling, life skills seminars, drug and alcohol education seminars, GED classes, vocational planning, parenting skills. Other services include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous meetings and 12 step meetings and urinalysis screening. Patients who may have been unsuccessful in past treatment and recovery attempts, with numerous relapses, and whose addiction has significantly impacted their ability to live the productive lives they want for themselves. Stabilizing a patient’s mental and physical health, educating them on their condition, and beginning the healing process is the thrust of the Extended Stay Program. Focus: Problem identification and building a foundation for learning and changing based on the Stages of Change Model and facilitated through Motivation Interviewing, CBT and many other proven techniques. A process of Discovery is started to uncover primary issues and perpetuating factors to each patient’s current situation. Detrimental lifestyle patterns are identified and the process of change is begun. Treatment Care Plans will guide a systematic approach to behavioral practice of new ways of dealing with difficult situations, past and present stressors, and adjustment to sobriety. Montgomery County Offices - Drug and Alcohol Treatment - NorristownThe Office of Drug and Alcohol Programs is committed to the prevention and treatment of substance abuse problems in Montgomery County. Services are delivered in partnership with qualified providers, and are guided by a philosophy that embraces hope, respect, and support for recovery. The Montgomery County Drug and Alcohol Program provides a wide range of drug and alcohol services to county residents. These services fit into three main categories: Prevention, intervention, and treatment. Each year approximately 6,000 county residents receive drug and alcohol awareness counseling (prevention). In addition, 3,500 residents receive short term counseling (intervention), and 1,500 residents receive ongoing outpatient and inpatient care (treatment), with the primary focus being on attaining and maintaining a drug and alcohol free life. Prevention and intervention services are provided to the community at large regardless of personal income. Treatment services require a comprehensive clinical and financial assessment.
