Programs that provide assistance and support for individuals who are physically dependent on substances of any kind during the withdrawal period. Detoxification is a medical regimen aimed at managing acute intoxication and withdrawal by systematically reducing the amount of the addictive substance in a patient’s body, providing reasonable control of active withdrawal symptoms and/or averting a life-threatening medical crisis related to the substance. Detoxification in generally conducted under the supervision of a physician, can take place in a wide variety of settings and at a number of levels of intensity within these settings and has three stages: evaluation, stabilization and fostering patient readiness for and entry into treatment.

Continuing Care: Graduates of Greenbriar programs and their families are encouraged to attend this programming which consists of twelve months of weekly group therapy, led by an experienced counselor from our staff. Therapy discussion centers around goals that each graduate established during treatment. Continuing Care is a bridge between treatment and recovery in a 12 step program. There is no charge for this service. Family Program: Families of patients are encouraged to participate in the family programs consisting of weekly group education and counseling. Pointing a person in the direction of Recovery and preparing them for the journey ahead is the goal of the program. Setting: The Extended Stay philosophy is to take the patient through exploration of all aspects of his/her life. Each patient has a primary case manager and interacts with many other staff members as well. Each day, patients participate in a core therapy group along with several psychoeducational seminars, lectures and experiential task groups. The staff plays a large role in exploring the roots of each patient’s condition along with identifying potential barriers to growth. Supportive clinical staff persons assist the patient in facing and overcoming daily challenges while guiding them toward a more constructive and effective lifestyle. Near the end of each patient’s stay, KeyStone’s Aftercare Specialist begins to develop a plan for post-treatment life. Patients will explore alternate, supportive living arrangements; ongoing treatment options; services available; and a host of other elements to make this recovery attempt more successful. Pennsylvania Adult & Teen Challenge - Detoxification and Withdrawal ManagementAdmission number is 1-844-888-8085. Detox Process: • Intake –during the intake process the patients will be assessed by the clinical staff to determine the level of care needed for the patient to become successful in their treatment process. • Medical Team – once a patient has completed the intake process a medical assessment will be conducted from our highly skilled licensed medical team. During this assessment a comprehensive treatment plan will be developed to address the withdrawal symptoms. o Use an evidence based and medically monitored medication taper to detox patients in comfort. o All of the programs are staffed around the clock by licensed medical and clinical staff. • Clinical Team – patients connect with their primary counselor while in detox. After the patient is assessed by the medical team, the primary counselor will meet with the patient for a program orientation session. With the patient’s permission, the primary counselor will then reach out to the family for introduction along with discussing upcoming counseling sessions. • Transition to Comprehensive Counseling - once the medical team determines the patient is stable, the detoxification process will be complete. The patient will then transfer into the short term program and continue their work towards holistic lifestyle change.
