    Programs that offer a form of therapy which helps individuals with mental, physical or developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, chronic health conditions or other problems achieve self-expression and emotional release through folk dancing, ballroom dancing, exercising to music and other rhythmic motor activities. The objective of dance therapy is to further the emotional, cognitive, social and physical integration of the individual.

    Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy - Family Music and Movement Circles for Children with AutismProvides music and movement therapy for children and their family members or caregivers. Groups will meet for 8 consecutive Saturdays at our Northeast Philadelphia studios. Music Therapy and Dance/Movement Therapy incorporate the universal language of non-verbal expression providing children with disorders of relating and communicating a bridge for relating to others.     Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy - Individual SessionsBefore starting a program, all clients have an hour long assessment. A therapist spends time with each individual prior to entering the program in order to assess his/her interests, talents, and skills. Observations and recommendations are then discussed and an individualized program is created which may be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length depending on the skill level and/or attention span of the individual. Hours vary at each location.
