    Programs that provide a therapeutic environment for individuals who have acute or chronic mental or emotional disturbances, who do not require full-time hospital care but who can benefit from a structured environment for some portion of the day or week. Services may include individual, group and/or family therapy; social and recreational activities; and a range of adjunctive therapies. Psychiatric day treatment programs may be offered by freestanding day treatment facilities, by psychiatric hospitals or by psychiatric units in general acute care hospitals.

    Adult Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient ProgramSummit Oaks Hospital’s IOP meet the therapeutic and scheduling needs of each client. We provide group therapy and medication monitoring in a less restrictive, flexible environment so patients who need to maintain work schedules, care for children or attend school, can. Services include psychiatric assessment, group therapy, psycho education, medication management, coordination of care, and referrals upon discharge. Group Meets: Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 12:30pm. Summit Oaks provides transportation to and from our Psychiatric IOP within a defined geographic area. Although each client is required to participate at least three times a week, frequency beyond 3 days is available for patients’ who need additional support. Patients frequently participate in our IOP for step down services from acute inpatient psychiatric, chemical dependency program or from a partial hospital program.
