    Programs that provide instruction, demonstrations and special programs in the culinary arts for individuals of all ages who want to become proficient in the selection and preparation of any of a number dishes that are representative of different cuisines. Included are programs aimed at teaching low income people how to cook nutritious meals from fresh ingredients at a cost much cheaper than pre-packaged meals.

    JEVS Human Services - Culinary ConnectionsCulinary Connections offers an 8-week course of structured learning in a classroom and professional kitchen, followed by internships in leading Philadelphia kitchens, enabling participants to earn a Culinary Arts-Skills Certificate. Programs such as Image Makers teaches digital photography, members will enjoy taking photos of different objects, learn how to upload them to a computer, and print them out. In Outside the Lines members experience a different type of art or activity each week. Some of their artwork will be displayed throughout the Club. The program is free and includes lessons on meal planning, portion control, shopping on a budget, food safety and cooking. Participants receive incentive kitchen and shopping items such as a meat thermometer, measuring cups, magnetic shopping list and cook books. Also provides a youth programing series to youth groups such as the YMCA, Salvation Army, school based, and after school programs. Call your local Nutrition Links coordinator to inquire about program participation.
