    Angel Tree Program Salvation Army of ScrantonThe Salvation Army's Angel Tree program provides new clothing and/or toys for children of needy families. Each Angel Tree is decorated with numbered paper angel tags with the first name, age, and gender of a child who is in need of a gift. Contributors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child or children described on the tags. Companies, businesses, schools, and other groups agree to have an Angel Tree to benefit The Salvation Army. Each location (business, school, etc.) provides a Christmas tree in which to hang the Angel Tree tags. The tags provide information as to gender, wish, and age. Tags are taken and gifts are donated unwrapped with each Angel Tag attached to the gift. Please call for information on participating in the Angel Tree Program. Individuals/Families can also Adopt a Child or Adopt a family to provide Christmas gifts to child/family in need.     Christmas Assistance Program Salvation Army of Wilkes- Barre2019 The Christmas Assistance consists of food for all in the household, and toys for children ages 12 and under. Accepting WALK IN, in person applications only. Sign Up Dates: Wednesday, October 16th -- 9 am - 1 pm. Thursday, October 17th -- 9:30 am - 12 pm and 2 pm - 4 pm.     Christmas Bureau Voluntary Action CenterEstablished in 1950, the Christmas Holiday Bureau provides limited financial assistance to low-income families in Lackawanna County during the Holiday Season. Eligible recipients are provided gift cards to purchase clothing, food or toys to help make the holiday season special to them. Donations are welcomed from individuals, businesses, organizations, faith-based organizations and schools to help provide assistance to over 3,000 individuals each year. Members of the community drop new, unwrapped toys in collection boxes positioned in local businesses. Coordinators pick up these toys and store them in central warehouses where the toys are sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, Coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the less fortunate children of the community.     Toys for Tots The New Love Center Jersey Shore2019 Sign Up for Marine Corps Toy for Tots program. Serves: Lycoming (Linden, Jersey Shore, Nippenose Valley, Waterville, Cammal, Slate Run), Clinton (Avis, Woolrich, McElhattan, Lock Haven, Flemington). Provides toy for children ages 0 through 12 years of age. To sign up for this years program, you will need to call 570-916-5087 to schedule an appointment for the interview. If no answer just leave your name and a phone number for a call back. Parents/Legal Guardian are those who are eligible to sign up. Will need to have a valid ID with you for the interview which will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1601 Walnut Street, (Corner of Walnut and Maple) Jersey Shore. Please come prepared with a list of suggestions for toys for each child in the family. The following Dates and Times for the interview are available. Mondays: October 21st, October 28th and Nov 4th, 9 am - 12 noon. Tuesdays: Oct 23rd, Oct 30th and Nov 6th, 1 pm- 4pm. Fridays: Oct 25th, Nov 1st, and Nov 8th, 4 pm- 7pm.     York Community Outreach AllianceSponsors a Christmas program, holiday meal and toy give away for York County residents and their children up to age 13 Both the parents and the children must be present to receive the gifts.
