    Marc Children's ServicesEarly Intervention (preschool) programs are provided for children who are considered as "at risk" having shown a delay in a mental or physical developmental area. Preschool programs are designed to work with each child at the earliest age possible to improve and/or maintain skill/capability areas where a developmental delay is identified. The Early Intervention services for children considered "at risk" are divided into two program areas that are overseen by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL). It is a means to help fund the progress towards a child's speech and language goals through this grant. Our goal is to give children the chance to better express themselves in the world in which we live. It is intended that the Foundation will initially focus on helping children who have speech and/or language disorders.     Speaking From the Heart - Speech TherapySpeech Therapy Services are provided by a Speech-Language Pathologist. All our providers in Speech Therapy hold a minimum of a Master's Degree, are certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), have an active license in the state of Pennsylvania, and receive at least twenty-four hours of continuing education, on a yearly basis. The Speech Therapist provides assistance and support to children and their families in the areas of language acquisition, articulation, oral motor development, feeding issues, and social communication skills. More specifically the therapist will address the areas of need in expressive language, receptive language, need for an alternative language means (i.e., sign language, pictures, etc.), development of oral motor musculature (strength and control), and range and quality of sound production for communication.
