AIDS Services Center of St Luke's Hospital | ASC is funded by grants from HRSA (Ryan White), and subcontracts for grant funds via AIDSNET. There are two locations for HIV prevention/education, confidential/anonymous HIV testing, comprehensive clinical care (integrated behavioral health; integrated dietitian counseling), and medical case management for HIV-positive patients. We offer PrEP as a preventative for HIV-negative patients. New patient and client intakes are by appointment only.
No walk-ins. Must bring documentation of HIV-positive status. HIV/AIDS Prevention/education services are provided for residents of Northampton, Carbon and Monroe County.

- Lead Poisoning: Will provide lead testing, case management, nursing assessment, and arrangement of environmental inspection for children up to age six with a venous blood level at or above the level designated for case management by the Pa Dept. of Health. Provides general information on lead poisoning, including prevention, treatment and hazard reduction. Lead testing by appointment 3rd Thursday
- Investigation and control of reportable diseases. Educates patient regarding possible source, transmission, and prevention/control measures. Investigations include reportable communicable and non-communicable diseases and food and/or waterborne disease outbreaks
- Outbreak investigation of multiple cases of illness linked to a common source. Gathers information regarding symptoms, onset, activities, food and beverage history of ill versus non-ill persons. If threat of an outbreak that mass immunizations may prevent or limit, the center may quickly establish mass immunization sites among the non-immunized population.
- High risk infant follow-up program for families without health insurance, who have premature infants, or infants with congenital defects. Home assessment, health education, and growth and development monitoring are provided by a nurse.
- Information and referral services on Hepatitis C, AIDS, genetic disorders, cardiac, cleft palate, cystic fibrosis, phenylketonuria, spina bifida, sexually transmitted diseases. If there is a program at the state level for specific disorders, the staff will assist local residents in accessing these services.
- PKU follow-up provided to infants with elevated phenylalanine levels. Nurse will act as a liaison between the family and the PKU Treatment Center.
- Rabies prevention. All animal bites are reported to the State Health Center. Both victim and owner are contacted and informed of protocol for confinement of the animal. If there is a risk of rabies, a nurse will assess and educate the parties involved regarding the need for rabies prophylaxis.
- Community Education Programs on such topics as: AIDS, diabetes, health risk education, high blood pressure, and nutrition. Farm and fire safety education programs for health fairs and parochial schools, including Amish schools. Health and safety educational programs for day care and HeadStart staffs and WIC parents.
- Provides information on West Nile Virus.

Prevention Point Philadelphia - Syringe Exchange Program | Provides new syringes in exchange for used ones. Pediatrics: newborn visits and well-baby care; treatment of childhood illness/injury; preventive check-ups, exams and immunizations
Women's health: comprehensive health care for women including menopause, incontinence and pelvic pain; routine health maintenance exams, preventive health care, pap smears and breast exams; family planning and contraception; care of the pregnant woman, including childbirth education; healthy beginnings plus; care of the adolescent including menstrual problems, std screening and pregnancy testing.
Adults : physical exams; treatment of illness/injury; care of acute/chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, HIV/AIDS, and skin disorders; geriatrics
Urgent care (for our established patients only): treatment of sprains and injuries that are not emergency or life-threatening; minor surgery
Special services: nutrition counseling; cancer screenings; medication education; HIV/AIDS care (caring together); healthy women 50+; laboratory tests.
Nurse call center: staffed by registered nurses who can answer your questions about health problems and schedule you for an appointment with your physician if necessary.
