Center for Traffic Safety, York CountyThe Center for Traffic Safety develops and implements comprehensive community traffic safety programs intended to reduce the incidence of traffic crashes, injuries, and deaths. The Center and its trained, experienced staff are well qualified to address any traffic safety related topics. Specific services include monitoring air quality and drinking water and inspecting landfills. (i.e., asbestos removal, air pollution, odor, demolition, VOC emissions) - Water Supply Management oversees all public water supplies, and bottled water plants - Waste Management deals with hazardous and solid waste clean up, recycling and disposal issues - Water Quality/Management works with the city and county governments to provide evaluation of sewage disposal management - Conducts sewer planning reviews, including new county subdivisions - Water testing kits available for purchase - Offers a Radon Hotline to answer questions on what radon is, how to test, and remediation methods and services The Eating and Drinking program formerly handled by this office has been transferred to the PA Department of Agriculture.
