    Programs that provide for the conservation and protection of wetland areas through the acquisition and preservation of endangered wetlands; incentive programs which encourage voluntary wetlands restoration, enhancement and protection by landowners; educational initiatives; and national, state and local land use and other regulatory efforts which seek to minimize the destruction, loss or degradation of wetlands through direct drainage, diversion of surface or ground water sources, excavation, filling and/or conversion for agricultural production or development purposes.

    Technical Services - Monroe County Conservation DistrictOffers a wide variety of technical services and assistance to Monroe County residents. Provides assistance with soils and wetlands mapping, aerial photography interpretation, prime farmland, topographic and floodplain mapping. Services include review and approval of PA Code Title 25 Chapter 102: Erosion and Sediment Control (E&S) and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits for Construction. MCCD also administers Chapter 105: Waterways & Wetlands Management General Permits for water obstructions and encroachments. The District administers both Chapter 102 and 105 PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) delegated programs internally; including permit application, E&S review, engineer review of Post Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM), site inspections, complaint investigations and technical assistance. MCCD provides review of Timber Harvest plans, assistance with Agricultural Activities and Landuse planning.Technical Assistance, as well as competitive funding is available for maintenance and repair of Dirt and Gravel and Low Volume Roads.MonroeMonroe County Conservation DistrictMonroe County Conservation District
