Our program offers time for homework assistance, outdoor free play, and a variety of special-interest clubs such as cooking, writing projects, carpentry, sports, arts and crafts, science and community service. We offer full-day care when children are released early and on school holidays. Holiday care often includes special activities or trips to nearby points of interest. Families may enroll for 2-5 days per week, or for school holidays only. In the 2009-2010 school year, we provide transportation from Greenfield, Penn Alexander, Powel, and St. Francis de Sales. Parent involvement is an integral part of the PIC community and all families who enroll agree to make an investment of time in the work that we do. The Parent Participation Program (PPP) volunteer requirement for families enrolled in ASC is 10 hours per year (6 hours for single parents). The After School Center is accredited by the National AfterSchool Association. Each group gets the chance to experience many great trips that display the blessings God has given to us on Earth. For our day camp, every Monday and Thursday are park days, Tuesday and Friday are pool days, and Wednesday is our tour day. The last day of day camp, all three groups venture off to spend the day at an amusement park to celebrate the ending of the Summer. We also offer a 5-day overnight camp. All three groups travel to a selected Christian campground and experience life away from the city to help the campers become mentally, emotionally, and spiritually closer to the Lord. The campers will participate in activities including but not limited to bible study, swimming, boating, zip lining, rock climbing, sports and games, hiking, campfire, skit night, etc. This is a great opportunity for campers to discover who they are in Christ and establish a stronger relationship with God.
