    Adult Literacy Services - Wayne Pike Adult LiteracyServices support adults in their endeavors to function as literate and contributing members of society. One to one tutoring is provided by a trained volunteer. Tutoring can be used to help to improve educational skills in Reading, Math, English Language or to prepare students for GED, Drivers Permit and Citizenship tests.     English as Second Language (ESL)ESL/Civics is a program for adults learning to listen, speak, read and write in English. Participants also learn about U.S. civics, practice conversational English, and learn everyday skills needed to function successfully in the U.S. The structure of the class is a small group with discussions, speakers, and some computer learning. ESL students progressing in their mastery of English may transition to an Adult Basic Education class if desired. The IAC staff conducts intensive literacy and GED classes at the Earn Centers, Job Skill Training Center, Achieving Reunification Center, and Teen-Parent Centers throughout the City of Philadelphia. Core Education, Employment, and Job Skills Training Programs provide counseling, basic education, GED preparation, intensive computer training, and life and employment skills to high school drop-outs, ages 17 to 21.     Vita Education Services - Literacy ProgramsThe Literacy Center of Bucks County offers free one-to-one tutoring, small, groups and classes in the community and at the Bucks County Correctional Facilities to prepare adults to function effectively in their roles as family members, employees and citizens.
