Education Foundation of Lower Merion - Fundraising and GrantmakingFunds are raised through an annual appeal to alumni and community members, a fall gala, a spring walk/run, and several smaller fundraising efforts, such as a graduation DVD sale. Keystone Central School DistrictProvides K-12 education for students in Clinton County and in parts of Centre and Potter counties. York City School District, Administration Offices2019 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS: August 20th for grades 1st through 12th and August 21st for Kindergarten Provides K through 12 public education to the City of York. The following are the K-8 (kindergarten through 8th grade) schools in the district: Davis, Devers, Ferguson, Goode, Hannah Penn, Jackson, McKinley and Smith STEAM Academy (a 4th through 8th grade school for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). William Penn Senior High School is the only public high school in the district. There is free after school enrichment programs available in each K-8 building. Separate registration for the After School Program is taken care of at individual buildings. There are Pr-K classrooms available at most of the K-8 buildings. York City School District, Special Events, Back To School - Aug. 17, 2019The School District of the City of York holds many events throughout the year to bring together students, families, staff and the community. The following is scheduled: BACK TO SCHOOL RESOURCE FAIR Saturday, August 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Penn Park •Along with a backpack giveaway, a variety of activities and entertainment will be provided for the children. •Activities include face paintings, a bounce house, basketball drills and a splash pad. The YWCA York’s Temple Guard will perform. •Donations of backpacks and school supplies will be accepted until Saturday, July 27, at the following locations: York City Hall, l01 South George St. State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans’ office, 50 E. North Street The Underground, 683 E. Market St. •Sunday, Aug. 18, participating barbershops and salons in York City will provide children with free haircuts at their locations.
