    Programs that provide assistance for people who believe that they have been denied equal access to employment or that they have been treated unfairly as employees, i.e., that they were sexually harassed or denied equal pay for equal work, passed over for a promotion, denied training opportunities or fired on the basis of their age, gender, race or ethnic origin, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation or marital status. Also included are programs that provide assistance for job applicants who feel they have been denied employment because of a military service obligation or help restore job seniority and pension rights which have been withheld from military service personnel because of an absence from work due to a service obligation.

    Duquesne University School of Law, Tribone Center for Clinical Legal Education -Civil Rights ClinicDuquesne University School of Law's Civil Rights Clinic is a year-long in-house clinic that engages in civil rights litigation and advocacy. Students participate in weekly training sessions addressing the applicable substantive and procedural law. Beyond the classroom, students are trained in case intake and interviewing, client counseling, fact investigation, case analysis, negotiation, research, and drafting of complaints and documents. A leading referral source for cases is the Pittsburgh Chapter of the NAACP. In this innovative partnership, NAACP staff and volunteers work with the clinic students and the supervising attorneys to create a comprehensive intake and referral system for civil rights and other legal complaints. Students prepare and conduct training sessions for the NAACP on the application of a refined and systematized intake and referral process. Any potentially viable civil rights complaints identified through this process will be referred to the CBR Clinic or when necessary to other appropriate sources for assistance. The civil rights clinic works with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations and the Pittsburgh chapter of the NAACP on matters involving employment, housing and public accommodation discrimination, and civil rights advocacy.AlleghenyDuquesne University School of Law, Tribone Center for Clinical Legal EducationDuquesne University
