Other trips to places like the theater, restaurant, bingo parlor, or to visit a friend require that the senior citizen pays 15% of the fare - Also provides transportation to medical appointments for Medical Assistance recipients based on the following guidelines: - The appointment is medically necessary and MA reimbursable - The client is using the most cost effective means of transportation (bus, mileage reimbursement or taxi) - ADA Services provides transportation for disabled persons who are unable to use RRTA buses. Service is available in Lancaster City and County. There is an application procedure to determine eligibility. Applications are available at the RRTA office and several other social service agencies such as CAP, EARS, Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Services, MH/MR, Blind Association, Lancaster Guidance Center, I.U. 13, Occupational Development Center, United Cerebral Palsy - Will provide door-to-door assistance (helping the persons from their front door to the van) for anyone who requests assistance. All requests for service must be made at least one day in advance - Persons with disabilities service for residents in rural parts of Lancaster County. Requires certification that mental or physical disability substantially limits one or more major life activities. Cost is 15% of the full fare depending on service requested - Provides taxi service for qualifying employees who use bus to get to work but for whom no bus service is available where client needs to travel LancasterRed Rose Transit Authority, Public TransportationRed Rose Transit Authority (RRTA)
    Access Transportation Systems, Inc.ACCESS is door-to-door, advance reservation, shared ride transportation provided throughout Port Authority's service area and serves primarily senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Service is provided from 6:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, and at such other times and places that Port Authority fixed route service is in operation. There are no restrictions on the purpose or number of trips which may be taken by riders, except that riders are required to share their vehicle with others traveling in the same direction and at the same time.     Cheltenham Township - Transit Bus Service/Shared Ride ProgramThe Cheltenham Transit Service operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only. The bus will run in Abington Township on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The handicapped-accessible Cheltenham Transit Bus offers transportation around Cheltenham Township, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except major holidays. The bus will stop anywhere it is safe along its route for passengers to board or disembark. People with disabilities and seniors over age 62 can ride the bus for free with a Cheltenham or PennDOT identification card. Both cards are available at the Township Building, 8230 Old York Road in Elkins Park. Proof of age or disability is required. Children under 51" tall also ride for free. Other passengers can purchase a 10-Trip Ticket on the bus for $10, making a one-way trip just $1. Without a 10-Trip Ticket, a one-way fare is $4 . Exact change is required.     Chester County Planning Commission - Ride GuideThe Chester County Planning Commission in partnership with the Chester County Human Services Department, Chester County Department of Community Development, and county transit agencies have released a "Ride Guide" to educate Chester County residents on available transportation services in Chester County. Chester County is served by four public bus providers, two rail providers, a county-wide paratransit system and taxi service in select locations of the County. The Ride Guide was created as a one-stop resource to inform and direct transit users to the appropriate transit options that address their particular transportation needs. Included in the Ride Guide is information about each of the County's four transit options passenger rail, bus, taxi, and paratransit service, and links to the transit agency's website where transit users can obtain more information about eligibility, procedures, schedules, and fares. LIFE St. Mary is an innovative program of care for people age 55 and older with chronic health problems and/or memory loss. LIFE assists older adults in navigating the healthcare system and addressing the needs of the whole person. Services include primary and specialty medical care, medications, personal care at home, activities at a day center, meals and transportation. The LIFE Center provides one location where doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals offer treatment and monitor changes in health, where participants receive nutritious meals, activities to keep active and maybe even make new friends.     Rainbow Cab - Aging Shared RideIf you're over the age of 65, you can benefit from the Shared Ride Program. As a registered member of the program, seniors using Rainbow Cab only pay 15% of the full fare. Registration is always free for the program, and you'll find that the level of service we're able to provide is second-to-none. Rainbow can take you to the Philadelphia International Airport, the grocery store, the Doctors office, and anywhere else life may take you. Rides within the West Chester borough are only $0.85 per person, and trips to the Airport are usually between $10 and $13 per person. When you need to get out and and get going, call Rainbow and we'll take care of you from door-to-door. 1st STEP: If you're not already registered with the Senior Shared Ride Program, you can sign up for free at our offices located in West Chester. You'll need identification that indicates that you are over the age of 65. We'll provide you with a six-digit senior number that we use to archive all of your information. 2nd STEP: When you call, have your Senior Number ready and the address of your destination.     Surrey Services for Seniors - Senior Ride ProgramSurrey provides discounted minibus transportation for members 65+ on a shared ride basis up and down the Main Line. Members who are 55 to 65 must pay un-subsidized fares. For those who are too frail to use the minibus service, personal escort drivers are available to offer door-to-door transportation. Door-to-door shared ride services are available weekdays 8 AM to 5 PM. Surrey members should call in advance as all reservations are on a first-come, first served basis. For those who cannot use the shared ride program, Surrey Services volunteers provide personalized driver escort services. These volunteers drive Surrey members door-to-door and enable them to get to appointments. While the escort service is staffed by volunteers, there are administrative and other costs associated with this service. Typically, therefore, Surrey members make a $5 donation for local rides, including grocery shopping.
