Programs that provide flexibly scheduled and routed transportation services using low capacity vehicles such as vans for community residents who do not have private transportation and are unable to use the fixed-route public transportation system. Paratransit services generally operate within normal urban transit corridors or rural areas; and may be used by the general public or limited to special populations such as people who are elderly or have a disability, individuals who are not in a sober enough condition to drive their own vehicles or people who are endangered.

    Medical Assistance TransportationIf you are a Medical Assistance recipient, you may be eligible to get help with transportation to and from medical appointments and care. Transportation is provided by the County of Lackawanna Transportation System (COLTS). The Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) is a transportation service available to Medical Assistance consumers in Lackawanna County. MATP is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.     Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service and Education Center - Veterans ServicesPVMSEC's services include: - The Perimeter - A day service center for homeless veterans providing meals, showers, haircuts, and laundry facilities. LZII - A 95 bed transitional housing facility for homeless male veterans. - Mary E. Walker House - A 30 bed transitional housing facility for homeless female veterans. Subsidized HUD/OSH Permanent Housing - 40 Units provided for homeless Veterans. - Community Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC) - Present daily at PVMSEC's onsite CBOC is a mental health team, which includes a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, and Individual and group PTSD counseling. On regularly scheduled days, medical assessments, with appropriate treatment, medical prescriptions, as well as primary care services are provided to the veterans. - Computer Applications Training - A comprehensive computer class teaching veterans Microsoft Office, internet, and Email. - Computer Repair Training - An intense course preparing veterans to become A+ certified (an entry level certification for information technology positions). - Job Development/Case Management - Dedicated to finding veterans employment.
