|Cumberland County Aging & Community Services - Caregiver Support Program||Assists eligible caregivers through education about caregiving techniques, information about services available in their communities, and provides limited financial reimbursement for caregiving expenses.
Program Eligible and Income Eligible caregivers may receive reimbursement of up to $500 per month to help with out-of-pocket expenses ranging from respite care to adult briefs. In addition, one-time grants of up to $2,000 may be given to qualified families to modify the home or purchase assistive devices to accommodate the frail relative. Through a cost sharing approach family may recieve monthly reimbursements of up to $200/month through PA FCSP and an additional $300/month from the National FCSP. These monies can help with out-of-pocket expenses ranging from respite care, over-the-counter medicines, incontinence supplies, day care and home chore services.
Modifcations can be made to the home such as installing stair lifts, building ramps or bathroom modification. One time only grants of up to $2000 can be give to families who qualify so that they can make the home more livable for the frail relative.

Grants and loans are secured by a mortgage against the residence which require NO monthly payments. |Union County Housing Authority - Residential Rehabilitation||The Residential Rehabilitation Program serves the owner/occupants by upgrading their home. This allows people, many of which are elderly, to remain in their homes longer, and they remain in their communities where they have social connections and networks.
The rehabilitation also helps the community by preventing deterioration and blighting influences, and the local tax base is maintained.
Funds are available only to homeowners and taxes must be current.
