The process of determining that a child has a developmental delay usually begins with -
1.an intake meeting conducted by one of our service coordinators. During the intake meeting, the service coordinator will
2.talk with the family about their child's development and
3.conduct a screening. The screening process is used as a guide to determine the need for a
4.comprehensive evaluation. An evaluation is only conducted upon receipt of
5.the family's written consent. Once written consent is received, the multidisciplinary team can
6.begin the process of evaluation. Information provided by the family during the process of evaluation is considered invaluable.
Children who are eligible for Preschool Early Intervention Programs and Services are determined by the multidisciplinary team and the child's family who develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
