Description of Service
Provides temporary, overnight accommodations, health care, case management, social services, meals and protection from frigid temperatures for adults during periods of severe weather. Operates when dangerous winter weather exists. The shelter will allow residents to check in all night. The phone line will be updated by noon each day to report if the shelter will be open that evening.
Walk in or call to find out if the shelter has been activated. On extremely cold nights, an effort by Operation Safety Net street outreach teams and other homeless service providers is made to locate those who need shelter. Guests must check in by 11:00 pm.
Demographic information and service needs will be taken at intake.
Individuals should be otherwise sleeping in places not meant for human habitation.
Men: Please enter the shelter through the church’s side entrance on Strawberry Way.
Women: Please enter through the double doors on Smithfield Street.
Street homeless adults in need of shelter from extreme weather.
