Description of ServiceA community-based not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of our military personnel and veterans with disabilities through the therapeutic benefits of fly fishing. Provides instruction in fly fishing, fly casting and fly tying ranging from beginners to those with prior experience who are adapting their skills to their abilities. Based on techniques of peer mentoring, experiential learning, outdoor education and group interactions, PHWFF strives to create a collaborative, cooperative, trusting and caring environment to enhance community reintegration and improved quality of life for participants. There are additional therapeutic benefits including improved fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, balance, range of motion, concentration and more.
