Description of Service
Facilities and their respective services include:
- University Hospital offers acute services such as cardio-thoracic surgery, high-risk obstetrical care, neonatal intensive care, adult and pediatric cancer treatment, transplant surgery and brain/spinal cord injuries surgery and rehabilitation. Also serves as the local chapter for the Children's Miracle Network

- University Physicians Center houses outpatient services which include basic family medicine, obstetric/gynecologic care and specialty services in diabetes, multiple sclerosis, hearing and vision problems, and hemodialysis. Psychiatric services include individual/family counseling and child psychiatric diagnostic services
- Hemophilia Center provides diagnostic services, distribution of blood products, physical therapy, dental consultation, counseling, and inpatient/outpatient emergency care plans
- College of Medicine confers Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science degrees, as well as offers programs for allied health, nursing, and continued medical education
Additional services located at the Medical Center include:
- Adolescent Eating Disorders Program
- Life Lion, an emergency aeromedical service
- CareLine, an information and referral to Medical Center services
- Vocational Services assists persons with disabilities to return to work by providing therapy and physical training
- Eye and bone banks
- Breast Care Center
- Comprehensive Epilepsy Center
- Penn State's Sports Medicine and Weight Management Centers
- Temporary lodging for adult and pediatric cancer patients and their families is offered at Hope Lodge (adult) and Ronald McDonald House (pediatric)
- The Four Diamond Fund provides relief from the extraordinary financial burdens faced by families of children with cancer who are treated at the hospital
- Offers bone marrow transplants
