Description of Service
The depot support those who have lost or are displaced from their homes, due to flood, hurricane, abuse, or other disaster/catastrophe and need to replace essential items. Goods distributed include household furniture, small appliances and disaster relief kits - health, school, layette, birthing and sewing kits and cleaning buckets.
Donations of furniture and household goods are accepted and can be dropped off on Tuesday or Saturday during regular hours of operation. Truck pickup can also be arranged.
Individuals/families in need must be referred through a social worker (i.e. case manager, clergy, health care provider). When the referral is made online, an appointment will be arranged. A Referral Liability and Waiver form, which includes the appointment, is required for all visitors and must be signed by a representative of the referring agency and by the referred individuals. This form is accessed through the LVOD website.
