General Information
Description of ServiceA cooperative program of the City, Township, and School District of Lancaster. Provides a wide variety of opportunities for citizens of all ages to participate in recreational activities.

Youth Activities include:
- Sports, such as track meets, basketball, soccer, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, flag football, cheerleading, gymnastics, football, softball, little league baseball
- Cultural enrichment, such as music, dance, theatre, and art
- Summer playgrounds and day camps
- Free lunches, snacks, and nutrition education provided at all summer programs
- Summer Day Camps for working parents
- Music, performing arts, other special interest and sports camps
- School-Age Child Care - Before/after school programs in 12 School District of Lancaster elementary schools
- Day care/preschool year long
- Classes in swimming, martial arts, ballet, jazz and tap dance

Special events:
- Fall Family Fun Fest
- Trick or Trot 5K and Monster Run for Kids
- Open Streets Lancaster
- Candy Cane Hunt
- Giant yard sales in May and September
- Daddy-Daughter Dance
- Mom and Son Fall Ball

Adult Activities include:
- Sports leagues; such as volleyball, basketball, coed softball, coed dodgeball
- Exercise classes; such as aerobics, yoga, pilates

Family Activities include:
- Conestoga Pines Swimming Pool (outdoors, summer only; open daily Memorial Day to Labor Day)
- Film series
- Bus trips
- Bingo nights
- Ice cream socials

Special Services include:
- Discount admission tickets to amusement parks
- Rental of Lancaster Recreation Commission facilities
- Employment opportunities available to college students year-round
- Senior Programs Available for ages 50 and older
