Description of Service
DART's purpose is to discover eligible young children who have a developmental delay, provide in-depth assessment aimed at identifying a child's individual strengths and needs, and recommend and provide appropriate early intervention services.
Allegheny, outside of the City of Pittsburgh.
Contact a DART representative at 412-394-5904 to discuss your child's needs. Explain that your child may need early intervention services and that you would like to arrange for a free initial screening.
An evaluation refers to the procedures used to determine if your child has a disability and whether your child is eligible for early intervention services.
An assessment is the process of gathering information about how your child is developing, and then determining what kind of help might be needed. This information may come from doctor's reports, results from developmental tests, and other important records.
