Description of Service
The Department of Public Welfare offers an Emergency Shelter Allowance, ESA, to help a homeless or near homeless family/individual to: stop eviction from your home/apartment or foreclosure of your house; find a long-term place to live; find a short-term place to stay.
Leave a message with your name and a good phone number. Someone will return your call it may take up to a couple of days. Once your call is returned, callers will be interviewed with a 20-question screening tool that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete over the phone. Callers will then be called back by one of the coordinated assessment centers.
