Description of Service
Lifeline is a program that provides reduced telephone costs to eligible customers of qualified telephone services. Act 183, signed into law on Nov. 19, 2004, and effective on Dec. 1, 2004, expanded eligibility to recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Medical Assistance, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or the National School Free Lunch Program.
Chester County residents interested in Lifeline and other PA DHS Services can visit the local office of DHS, call the toll-free number, or visit the COMPASS HHS website to apply for benefits
