Description of Service
Pittsburgh Mercy Health System's Operation Safety Net (OSN)is a medical and social service outreach program for the unsheltered homeless population in Allegheny County. Teams of volunteer health professionals, formerly homeless persons, and other outreach staff visit homeless individuals where they live – in camps along riverbanks, in alleyways, or beneath bridges and highway overpasses. Outreach teams provide medical care, basic supplies to provide relief from cold weather, and help individuals access housing and other social services.
Persons can be referred or may be sought out by OSN team.
