Only referrals through HMIS by a Housing Specialist will be considered
Salvation Army will assist individuals who are homeless and At-Risk of homelessness, with the rental fee of a home or apartment, provided that they meet all eligibility requirements.
Franklin County - Must reside in the following zip codes: Chambersburg (17201, 17202), St Thomas (17252), Scotland (17254) and Fayetteville (17222).
Individual/families must have a referral sent by a housing specialist to receive these services. Once a referral is received, a call, within (3) business working days, will be placed directly to the individual to follow-up the current information and determine if the individual meets the eligibility for services.
At that point, an intake appointment is scheduled with the individual.
Individuals should also first apply for Emergency Shelter Funds through the County Assistance Office, before seeking the assistance for rent when it comes to eviction.
For assistance with borough utilities, you must visit the Borough Office at 100 South Second Street and obtain a "UTILITIES VOUCHER" from the customer service desk prior to your interview for services.
Those who have received an eviction notice from their home or a shut off notice for their electric service.
