General Information
Description of ServiceProvides cold weather centers WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS PROJECTED TO BE 20 DEGREES OR BELOW, as per the Weather Channel.
Individual men and women over the age of 18 are eligible.
Once the temperature is projected to be 20 degrees or lower the day shelter will not close, it will become a 24 hour warming station. There are NO BEDS at the day shelter. If the temperature is projected to dip to 15 degrees or colder everyone at the day shelter will be transported to another facility provided by the City of Scranton to act as a cold weather shelter. This facility will HAVE BEDS and complete shower facilities for all. Anyone wishing to enter the shelter needs to report to the day shelter before the transfer starts.
