Intake ProcedureWelcome to Children's Village! All of us at Children's Village want to work closely with you. Children benefit when their home and school lives are well integrated. Children feel more secure when they see their teachers and parents talking together, smiling, and sharing important information back and forth. A strong bridge between home and school provides the best chance for a child's school success.

Families participate in a personalized intake interview prior to the child's first day. We discuss your child's daily routines, favorite things to do, and how to help your child adjust here at Children's Village. Parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year to review the child's development and learning goals. Classroom volunteer opportunities, parent workshops, and advisory committee participation are all available to parents and important family members.

We look forward to working with you to help us get to know you, your family, and your child. Children's Village serves a broad diversity of families. As we get to know you, we can respond to your growing and changing needs. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to schedule a tour of the program, or if you have any questions or concerns.

Intake RequirementsHere's what you can expect at the intake interview:
• We gather contact information for anyone permitted to pick up your child as well as for those you would want us to call in event of an emergency.
• We will ask about your child’s food, medical, or activity restrictions.
• We will discuss your child's daily routines (eating, sleeping, diapering, or toileting, favorite things to do) and how your child typically handles new situations.
• Most of the intake interview is held in the classroom so that your child can observe the new surroundings, and, if he or she wants to, participate in activities.
