Description of Service
Roxbury’s inpatient psychiatric program provides acute psychiatric stabilization, along with the capability and expertise to treat those who have co-occurring substance abuse needs. Our co-occurring disorder programming includes psychiatric stabilization, detoxification from any substance, 12-step programming, and referrals for additional treatment as needed. Addressing both substance abuse and mental health issues at the same time has proven to be therapeutically beneficial for our patients.
Adult Psychiatric Stabilization:
Thorough psychiatric evaluation
Full-time psychiatrist on staff and available 24-hours daily
Medication assisted stabilization
Continued medication management and education
Full and complete medical examination and history
Nursing care 24-hours daily
Therapeutic groups and activities with small group focus
Family and individual therapy as indicated by Roxbury’s treatment team
Structured recreational therapy including art and music therapies
Continuing care resources and detailed individual discharge plan including crisis plan upon completion of program
Adult Co-occurring Disorder Program:
Detoxification services conducted under close medical supervision
12-Step education with attendance to 12-Step meetings
Co-occurring disorder group therapy and education resources
Additional discharge treatment planning with substance abuse resources
Free assessment. All patients presenting to Roxbury for treatment are first provided a thorough and confidential assessment by our Admissions or Clinical staff at no charge. Current and past substance use and psychiatric patterns are recorded, as is treatment history, medical history, legal involvement, and leisure lifestyle. This assessment process allows our staff to match each patient to the appropriate level of care.
