General Information
Description of ServiceAsbestos.com is a website and advocacy group that helps the victims of asbestos exposure and their loved ones. Provide free information, resources and personal assistance to anyone affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure.

Offers up-to-date news and treatment information on mesothelioma and asbestos diseases. Offers a support group run by licensed counselor and has a Doctor Match Program and a Veterans Department. Veterans of the US military account for nearly a third of all mesothelioma diagnoses. Veterans make up a large percentage of people who come to Asbestos.com, and our Veterans Department has a special skill set just for them.

Advocates answer health insurance coverage questions that patients have before and after treatment. They can also assess your situation and help you find an attorney to pursue a legal claim you might have find grant money for patients who need it for treatment of their cancer.

Patients who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma may be eligible for free medical care through the National Institute of Health or VA health care system. Advocates assist those affected by asbestos diseases with their financial assistance options. Two primary ways of getting compensation for asbestos-related illnesses are securing veterans benefits (for those exposed to asbestos during their time in the military) and Social Security disability benefits (assuming Social Security retirement is not already being drawn).

Asbestos.com and The Peterson Firm, a law firm, set up The Mesothelioma Center, a patient advocate care center whose objective is to suggest treatment and assistance for anyone suffering from an asbestos-related disease.

Advocate services provided by The Mesothelioma Center are all free. Advocates help many mesothelioma patients and family members. None of them is required to be a client of The Peterson Firm to receive that help. The Peterson Firm is located in Washington, D.C.
