Patients who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma may be eligible for free medical care through the National Institute of Health or VA health care system. Two primary ways of getting compensation for asbestos-related illnesses are securing veterans benefits (for those exposed to asbestos during their time in the military) and Social Security disability benefits (assuming Social Security retirement is not already being drawn).
Asbestos.com and The Peterson Firm, a law firm, set up The Mesothelioma Center, a patient advocate care center whose objective is to suggest treatment and assistance for anyone suffering from an asbestos-related disease.
