Description of Service
If you need assistance and you live in the Philadelphia region, you may call the Women's Law Project Telephone Counseling Service at 215-928-9801, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and ask to speak with an Intake person. The Intake person will take your information and a telephone counselor will call you back to discuss your situation. Counselors call people back in the order that they have called us; depending on the volume of calls, it may take several business days for a caller’s name to reach the top of the call-back list.
Counselors CAN provide basic information to Pennsylvania callers about problems such as:
Separation and Divorce
Special legal concerns of lesbian and gay parents
Employment Problems, including
Family and Medical Leave
Other forms of discrimination
The Telephone Counseling Service is NOT a crisis hotline. It operates 9:30 - 4:30 each weekday.
Telephone counselors CANNOT provide legal advice or represent callers in court. Counselors CANNOT tell callers what they should do.
We call people back in the order that they have called us. It may take several days after intake for us to try to reach a caller.
This is a TELEPHONE-BASED service. We CANNOT respond to inquiries sent by email, fax, or U.S. Mail. Please DO NOT come to our office to request assistance. We CANNOT respond to individuals who come to our door seeking assistance.
