General Information
Description of ServiceThe purpose of our 30-year old workforce development program is to instill a strong work ethic in our population of low-income vulnerable adults (people with disabilities, former substance abusers, ex-offenders, and homeless people) and, in doing so, build their self-esteem and work skills to the point where those who are able are ready to move into the real workforce.

Through such vehicles as our temporary employment program, we have been able to help an average of 67 individuals each year to do just that - 67 individuals who become one step closer to becoming independent and productive members of their communities. For those who are unable to be mainstreamed, we provide long-term employment at one of our two work sites (Malvern and Philadelphia). Each year, depending on the level of work that is outsourced to us, we touch between 200 and 400 individuals. Approximately 60-70% of our revenue comes from the work that we do for our customers - the rest we raise privately. We believe there is no other organization in this country that does what we do, i.e., blending these four, very different types of individuals in a work rehabilitation program, and doing it without any government support.

Baker Industries is one of the leading outsourcing and fulfillment companies in the Delaware Valley , and a unique workplace. Striving to set the standard for outsourcing, fulfillment and temporary staffing in the region, we offer a well-supervised, well-practiced and extremely work-ready staff capable of a meticulous and intelligent response to your needs. We can provide workers for companies that need temporary help for special on-site projects. Our workers know how to handle on-the-job problems, how to spot defects, and how to complete the work you need in the way you need it.
