Description of ServiceNew Story is a private licensed academic school that provides special education and behavioral health services to children up to age 21 who have been diagnosed with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders. Their multidisciplinary teams collaborate with families, school districts and community partners to empower children in overcoming challenges and creating new stories for their lives.

Intake ProcedureThe student's LEA (local education agency) will contact New Story with a referral and New Story will then begin the intake process. First, New Story will conduct a tour with the family. Second, New Story will review the Individual Education Plan (IEP), Initial Evaluation Report (IR), or Reevaluation Report (RR), and any other relevant information about the student. Third, New Story will conduct and observation of the student. Once these steps have been completed, New Story will make a decision regarding transition to the school. If yes, the student's IEP team still has to make the final decision regarding placement with New Story.
Intake RequirementsAn agreement between New Story and the LEA must be established regarding payment of tuition and services. Also, parents need to complete the New Story intake registration documentation.
