Description of Service
Exists to serve citizens by educating and addressing municipal questions and needs. This can be done in one of three ways: through our Treasury Office, Call Center or Website.
- Treasury Office: Accepts payment of all City of Reading bills and fees except water (RAWA) bills. Allows walk-ins and processes payments received by all City of Reading departments. Additionally, Treasury posts payments to applicable accounts, and provides account balances upon request.
- Call Center: Manages the city toll-free phone number. Answers citizens questions and responds to citizens request. Log missed trash and recycling occurrences. Accept calls in English and Spanish.
• The City's Fire and Rescue Department is providing free smoke detectors, complete temporary installations and fire prevention literature to approved applicants. Please call for more information.
- Citizens’ Action Center: Designed for citizens to personally ask a question or pick up documents.
•Provides all trash, recycling, public works and tax forms to the public
•Reviews applications for Senior Citizen recycling rebates
•Accepts completed trash applications and cancellations
•Accepts completed Business Privilege applications and payments
•Issues or Renews Business Privilege Licenses
•Reviews and processes Business Privilege Tax returns
•Sets up new Per Capita accounts, load fees and accept payments
•Requests for Recycling Bins
•Provides Trash and Recycling certifications
•General Information about municipal services
