Description of Service
Children's Home of York's Girls' Center Program is a licensed, gender-specific, trauma-focused therapeutic milieu employing Sanctuary® principles. A 16-bed residential treatment facility (RTF) the Girls' Center specializes in the treatment of adolescent females who have serious emotional issues to the extent that medical services are deemed necessary. While in our care, young women between the ages of 13 and 18 receive individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate. Girls' Center residents learn more effective coping skills through a variety of therapeutic exercise including expressive arts, yoga, horticultural projects, and participation in an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) Program. Educational services are provided on site in cooperation with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit No. 12.
Child must be eligible and approved through medical assistance and/or the appropriate managed care organization.
