Description of Service
SpiriTrust Lutheran® Domestic Abuse Solutions offers alternatives to domestic abuse by providing the opportunity, information and skills training needed to help individuals who have used violence or abuse begin to live non-violently.
A group learning process is used in all four educational programs. Although it is not therapy, the process is therapeutic and fosters personal growth for those who have been abusive, controlling or violent with an intimate partner or other family member. At any given time there are group members who are new, others who are nearly finished, and many at various in between stages.
SpiriTrust Lutheran Domestic Abuse Solutions assists the judicial system in verifying conformity with court orders and help ensure victim safety by tracking the compliance of special conditions within the Protection From Abuse (PFA) order.
SpiriTrust Lutheran Domestic Abuse Solutions performs Risk of Harm Evaluations as per sections 5329 & 5330 of the Pennsylvania domestic relations statute regarding child custody. The “risk of harm evaluation” is not a full custody assessment but can be a useful component for consideration in custody decisions.
