General Information
Description of ServiceHealthChoices is an enrollment broker that assists most people eligible for Medical Assistance with choosing and enrolling in one of three managed care plans (PH-MCOs), AmeriHealth Northeast, CoventryCares, or Geisinger Health Plan, in order to get the services they need. Eligible consumers must choose a primary health practitioner (PHP), or primary care provider (PCP), and get all of their medical care through that plan.
Consumers are not locked in to a particular plan and may change their plan at any time. PA Enrollment Services can assist consumers with plan transfers.
All Medical Assistance recipients will still be issued an ACCESS card that will verify their eligibility for MA benefits and the program(s) under which they are served.
For those in treatment plans, the new managed care plan will make sure you keep getting the care you need. They can continue to see their current doctor for as long as 60 days even if the doctor is not in the health plan's network.
