Description of Service
The Student Education & Preventitive Program (STEPP) program is an integrated substance abuse and HIV prevention initiative targeting African American and Latino youth between the ages of 11 to 21 years in Dauphin County.
- Reduce substance abuse and risky sexual behaviors among program participants. The program's goals are to provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to (1) learn the facts about substance abuse and HIV Prevention, (2) begin the process of developing a positive self-concept, and (3) use effective negotiating and refusal skills to reduce their risk of substance abuse and HIV infection.
