Description of Service
Operates November 4, 2019 - April 5 2020
Provides shelter during the cold winter nights for homeless men through the Code Blue Program. Provides sleeping mats, sleeping bags and pillows for up to 40 men per night on the floor of the gymnasium on the ground level. Access permitted to ground floor "Safe Haven" bathroom.
If participants enter by 5:45pm, they may attend an evening chapel service and dinner immediately after. Dinner is only served to attendants of chapel.
If participants enter by 10:00pm, they are given sleeping assignments in gym only. Participants must exit building and leave premises by 6:45am. Exit time may be extended by front desk man in cases of inclement weather only.
A list of rules will be provided upon entrance regarding Code Blue participants' conduct, such as zero tolerance for violence as well as drug/alcohol use and contraband on Mission property. Rules participants must know in advances are: a valid photo I.D. is required, no registered sex offenders accepted and SSN must be provided. Participants must be residents of Reading for 30 days or more.
