Description of Service
Provides training and assistance to people with developmental disabilities who live at home with their families or who are living on their own. Hope Enterprises, Inc. staff goes to the family’s/individual’s home to work with them. Some staff take the individual out to do activities such as shopping, through which they learn purchasing and money management skills; or recreational activities, such as going to a carnival, or to exercise at the local YMCA. Staff teach cooking and laundry skills, writing, personal hygiene, and decision making. They may take the individual to doctor’s appointments to help with understanding medical issues. In Home staff will follow up with therapeutic exercises that have been recommended by the physician, physical therapist, or occupational therapist.

Referrals can be made through local organizations, such as Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, school district personnel, BLAST IU #17, community organizations, family members, and self-referrals. All referrals must meet eligiblity standards and licensing requirements.
