Description of Service
The Adult Training Facility at Hope Enterprises is a social/recreational day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Staff provide extensive personal care including tube feedings and assistance with other needs. They work to improve communication skills, sometimes using various forms of assistive technology, sensory motor activities provide health benefits, improve function, increase participation in and control over ones environment for an improved quality of life. Therapeutic massages are also available and has been especially beneficial to those in wheelchairs in improving circulation to legs and feet.
Individualized activities may include music, arts and crafts, exercise, seasonal activities, and cooking. Individuals participate in volunteer programs at nursing homes, the SPCA, Early Learning Programs, a local soup kitchen, and Meals on Wheels.
The facility has specilized services for those with autism, and a geriatric program for seniors with developmental disabilities.
To apply for services, contact the Intake Coordinator at 570-326-3745. Referrals can be made through local organizations, such as Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, school district personnel, BLAST IU #17, community organizations, family members, and self-referrals. All referrals must meet eligiblity standards and licensing requirements.
