General Information
Description of ProgramResponsible for administering Pennsylvania's environmental laws and regulations. Specific services include monitoring air quality and drinking water and inspecting landfills.

Services include:
- Air Quality Program handles issues regulated by the Clean Air Act. (i.e., asbestos removal, air pollution, odor, demolition, VOC emissions)
- Water Supply Management oversees all public water supplies, and bottled water plants
- Waste Management deals with hazardous and solid waste clean up, recycling and disposal issues
- Water Quality/Management works with the city and county governments to provide evaluation of sewage disposal management
- Conducts sewer planning reviews, including new county subdivisions
- Water testing kits available for purchase
- Offers a Radon Hotline to answer questions on what radon is, how to test, and remediation methods and services

The Eating and Drinking program formerly handled by this office has been transferred to the PA Department of Agriculture. The Department of Health now handles complaints on swimming pools.
